On Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Chelyabinsk a delegation led by Vladimir Ovcharenko,the Director of Melitopol plant «Turbokom» and deputy of the Melitopol City Council, met with the Minister of Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk region Elena Murzina. Earlier Zaporozhye and Chelyabinsk regions signed an agreement on cooperation. The purpose of the visit was to discuss Melitopol's investments in the economy of Chelyabinsk region.

At the meeting, Vladimir Ovcharenko talked about the economic potential of Zaporozhye region and Melitopol, made a presentation of the city and his own enterprise. The head of the economic department of Chelyabinsk region presented business opportunities of the area and ensured the support of the investment process.

Melitopol Mayor SergeyValter has actively supported this meeting andthe Industry Development Department staff took active part in its preparation. Vice-Mayor Valeriy Govorkov said: "This initiative is the second one this year. The first investment project of Melitopol businessmen was supported and is already being implemented in Novosibirsk region. We understand that Melitopol business becomes stronger when we open branches in other countries, and this in turn impacts Melitopol citizens. Therefore, we support any initiative of businessmen who want to invest in other countries and we negotiate with local authorities in these countries. Two projects that are being implemented this year are indicative of this".
